Players worldwide attested to the quality of Stellar Blade\u2019s combat when the demo dropped on March 29. However, some players have commented that they have experienced what feels like input lag in certain instances, and Shift Up\u2019s Hyung Tae-Kim recently addressed this topic.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Stellar Blade - EVE Vignette | PS5 Games\" width=\"1160\" height=\"653\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/DUidl7_li94?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Hyung Tae-Kim, the director and producer of Stellar Blade, gave an interview to Japanese video game outlet <a href=\"https:\/\/www.4gamer.net\/games\/594\/G059407\/20240422048\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">4Gamer<\/a> (published on April 25). Discussing the game\u2019s demo, the interviewer inquires about a delay they felt between button press and activation when performing perfect parries or dodging.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In response, Kim answers: \u201cIn Stellar Blade, there is about a 0.5 second lag between the moment you press the button and the moment the skill is visible on-screen. It\u2019s a time lag that can\u2019t be reduced any further. We made it so that the character\u2019s movement does not get triggered immediately upon button press, as we felt this would not fit the game\u2019s style of animation. Thus, we made it so that the skill itself is activated the moment you press the button, but the animation of the movement follows afterwards.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It seems that what some players identified as input lag was a choice made by the developers in the interest of keeping Stellar Blade\u2019s character animation fluid.
