The player takes on the role of a young noblewoman who crosses paths with various handsome young men as she tries to discover the dark truth beneath this seemingly perfect world.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"\u300e\u6ce1\u6cab\u306e\u30e6\u30fc\u30af\u30ed\u30cb\u30a2\u300f1st\u30c8\u30ec\u30fc\u30e9\u30fc\" width=\"1160\" height=\"653\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/z3ounHK7Pbo?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>With a well-known cast of anime voice actors, eye-catching visuals, and an intriguing fantasy setting\u2013 it is easy to see why fans of the otome genre would rush out to buy it. However, it is surprising for such a niche game to shoot straight to the top of the charts in its first week.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.famitsu.com\/article\/202404\/2551\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Famitsu<\/a>\u2019s Nintendo Switch game sales chart for the week from April 8 to 14, Utakata no Uchronia sold 11,553 copies (the game was released on April 11). Mario Kart 8 Deluxe remained at No. 2, selling 11,247 copies, followed by Princess Peach: Showtime!, Super Mario Brothers Wonder, and Nintendo Switch Sports.\u00a0 Therefore, the newcomer at number 1 was the only non-Nintendo IP in the top 5.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"676\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" src=\"http:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/20240419-29839-001.jpeg\" alt=\"Nintendo Switch Utakata no Uchronia The Ephemeral World Uchronia\" class=\"wp-image-29850\" srcset=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/20240419-29839-001.jpeg 1200w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/20240419-29839-001-380x214.jpeg 380w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/20240419-29839-001-768x433.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/20240419-29839-001-600x338.jpeg 600w\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>At the time of writing, Utakata no Uchronia is only available in Japanese- with localization plans yet to be announced. <a href=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/news\/dragons-dogma-2-and-rise-of-the-ronin-outsold-by-princess-peach-showtime-in-japan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Princess Peach: Showtime! previously outsold both Rise of the Ronin and Dragon\u2019s Dogma 2<\/a> in their first week on sale in Japan, showing how coinciding release dates can impact the initial sales success of a game.
