Aside from people paranoidly chucking any suspicious Pawns into Brine-infested waters, the in-game epidemic has also prompted some covid-reminiscent memes at the expense of conspiracy theorists, with anti-Briners suggesting \u201cnatural immunity\u201d and \u201cox laxatives\u201d as better Dragonsplague solutions. <strong>The following article contains spoilers related to Dragonsplague.<\/strong> &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Me checking my Pawns for Dragonsplague | <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/DD2?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#DD2<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/DragonsDogma2?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#DragonsDogma2<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/HgCLUR2mQI\">pic.twitter.com\/HgCLUR2mQI<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Elden Ring Updates (@EldenRingHQ) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/EldenRingHQ\/status\/1772382702617960943?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 25, 2024<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Dragonsplague in Dragon\u2019s Dogma 2 is a contagious disease that infects Pawns and can lead to \u201cdevastating calamity\u201d if not remedied. Its existence has been known since before the game&#8217;s launch, but it recently came to the attention of the community as users started reporting having their \u201csaves nuked\u201d by the disease.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Players have discovered that a Dragonsplague-infected Pawn that reaches the terminal stage of the disease will wipe out all NPCs of a town after resting at an inn, which includes key quest-giving NPCs that are needed for progressing in the story. As Dragon\u2019s Dogma 2 does not lend itself well to save scumming, it is very hard to undo this damage, and while there have been reports of NPCs being automatically reset after several in-game days have passed, it is unknown whether this is a bug or a feature. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-reddit wp-block-embed-reddit\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"reddit-embed-bq\" style=\"height:316px\" ><a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/DragonsDogma\/comments\/1bnbqgi\/dragons_plague_is_a_hoax\/\">Dragon&#39;s Plague is a hoax<\/a><br> by<a href=\"\"><\/a> in<a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/DragonsDogma\/\">DragonsDogma<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/embed.reddit.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"UTF-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Therefore, prevention is key with Dragonsplague. As there is no cure for it, the most popular method of dealing with a potentially infected Pawn is throwing them down a cliff or into deep, Brine-riddled waters. This fact triggered the appearance of satirical \u201canti-Briner\u201d discourse in the Dragon\u2019s Dogma community on Reddit, by conspiracy theorists who believe that the whole Dragonsplague thing is a nothingburger, or alternatively, is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/DragonsDogma\/comments\/1bnbqgi\/comment\/kwh4wof\/?utm_source=share&amp;utm_medium=web3x&amp;utm_name=web3xcss&amp;utm_term=1&amp;utm_content=share_button\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">caused by \u201c5G Goblin towers<\/a>.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As opposed to the orthodox Brine treatment, one Reddit user recommends combining healthy and infected Pawns into so-called \u201cplague parties,\u201d which will raise their natural immunity to Dragonsplague (which is fake anyways) and make them safe to release into the world. Other reliable sounding Brine alternatives include ox laxatives, minotaur urine, as well as \u201cthoughts and prayers.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, if you catch a recently hired Pawn\u2019s eyes glowing red \u2013 there is no need to panic, according to the anti-Dragonsplague movement, they are just tired and in need of a few consecutive nights of rest at an inn of a major city.
