Tabata previously directed various Final Fantasy titles including Crisis Core, Final Fantasy Type 0 and Final Fantasy XV.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As reported by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.4gamer.net\/games\/999\/G999905\/20240131047\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">4Gamer<\/a>, Tabata appeared on a special seminar conducted by the education provider Human Academy on \u201cThe Future of Games\u201d (Gemu no Mirai). During the online broadcast, Tabata talked with  former Square Enix president Yoichi Wada, who is now Human Academy\u2019s Game College Advisor. They discussed five outlooks that they thought were unsuitable for game creators. One of these was \u201cI have never used generative AI.\u201d Tabata stated that this is an unsuitable standpoint for would-be game developers. He also stresses that it is vital to pay attention to what the public is focusing on and how the industry evolves in response. \u201cWhile it is important whether or not you like the game yourself, game creation is a service industry, so you can only make money if you provide people with a satisfying product,\u201d Tabata opines.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Basically, game creators need to be curious about new things: \u201cFor example, with generative AI, you should try to use it before other people, and try paid services even if there is a free version available.\u201d Tabata went on to say. \u201cYou should be interested in digging around for each new thing that comes out.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Generative AI and its usage have become a controversial topic in creative industries. Amidst worries about AI taking human jobs and copyright concerns regarding AI art, AI can also provide useful tools to help people in creative industries. This can be seen in how AI can be used to generate facial expressions for in-game characters in massive open world games. In such labor-intensive large-scale projects, AI can be a useful tool for helping developers to complete their games.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"900\" height=\"578\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" src=\"http:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/20240322-28805-002.png\" alt=\"Inazuma 11 Victory Road Level 5\" class=\"wp-image-28811\" srcset=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/20240322-28805-002.png 900w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/20240322-28805-002-380x244.png 380w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/20240322-28805-002-768x493.png 768w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/20240322-28805-002-600x385.png 600w\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Inazuma Eleven Victory Road developer Level 5 revealed their use of generative AI in the game (<a href=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/news\/20231213-24326\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Related Article<\/a>).<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hd.square-enix.com\/eng\/news\/2024\/html\/a_new_years_letter_from_the_president_4.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">New Year\u2019s statement<\/a>, Square Enix\u2019s current CEO Takashi Kiryu said, \u201cI believe that generative AI has the potential not only to reshape what we create, but also to fundamentally change the processes by which we create, including programming,\u201d adding that the company intends to \u201cbe aggressive in applying AI and other technologies.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many other companies are also pursuing AI usage, but not without controversy. Xbox has partnered with Inworld AI to create an \u201cAI design co-pilot system\u201d to help developers create games, as reported in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2023\/11\/6\/23948454\/microsoft-xbox-generative-ai-developer-tools-inworld-partnership\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Verge<\/a> last November.
