Capcom\u2019s upcoming fantasy RPG Dragon\u2019s Dogma 2<\/strong> may inadvertently be the ideal game for furry and anthro lovers, thanks to the addition of the playable Beastren race and a detailed character creation system. The highly anticipated title is scheduled to launch on March 22 for the PC (Steam), PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.\u00a0

Dragon\u2019s Dogma 2 is the sequel to Capcom\u2019s 2012 cult-classic action RPG Dragon\u2019s Dogma. The second installment will expand upon the original title\u2019s worldbuilding and mechanics, and its story is set in two countries – Vermund, the kingdom of humans, and Battahl, the nation of Beastren.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Beastren are a race of humanoid beings with feline features. Covered in fur from head to toe, their facial features resemble those of lions or leopards, while their physique seems to be mostly identical to that of humans \u2013 save for their sharp claws. The Beastren are described as a resilient race with strong and flexible bodies that make them great warriors. Similarly to humans, they build nations and live civilized lives.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So far, the developers of Dragon\u2019s Dogma 2 have confirmed that players will be able to choose the Beastren race for their Arisen (playable character) as well as their main Pawn. This also means that players will be able to build their ideal cat-people using the game\u2019s detailed character creation system. Character creation in Dragon\u2019s Dogma 2 will allow you to customize the color and pattern of your Beastren character\u2019s fur, as well as their claws, fangs and other individual parts of their body. Facial fur patterns can be designed independently from the rest of the body, allowing you to adjust minute details.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As an aside, you will be able to  feel certain differences<\/a> in attitude towards your character depending on whether you\u2019re playing as a Beastren or a human, as people\u2019s perceptions of Beastren vary depending on the country.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the developers of Dragon\u2019s Dogma 2, Beastren already existed as a concept when they were working on the first title. The developers wanted to include them at the time, but couldn\u2019t due to the technical difficulties of rendering numerous fur-covered characters at once (Related article<\/a>). Considering this background, we can expect this aspect of the game to be thoroughly fleshed out. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
