On January 23, Sega published official guidelines<\/a> related to livestreaming, uploading gameplay videos etc. of Like a Dragon:<\/strong> Infinite Wealth<\/strong>. The latest addition to the Like a Dragon series will be releasing on January 26 for the PC (Windows\/Steam), Xbox Series X|S\/Xbox One and PS4\/PS5.\u00a0

According to the guidelines, there will be no off-limit sections of Infinite Wealth \u2013 all parts of the game can be streamed\/included in \u201clet\u2019s play\u201d videos and uploaded for personal purposes. However, Sega asks creators to make sure that they mark any spoilers and refrain from using key scenes from the game in thumbnails. Creators should also make sure to indicate Sega as the copyright holder.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Videos\/livestreams of Infinite Wealth may not be hosted on paywalled platforms, as this counts as commercial use. However, earning secondary revenue (i.e., through YouTube) does not go against the guidelines.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In response to Sega\u2019s publication of guidelines, many Japanese users were surprised that the entirety of Infinite Wealth will be streamable, and some even expressed hope that Sega would place restrictions on certain portions of the game if not all. This tells of the recent decline in popularity of gameplay videos\/livestreams in the Japanese community, particularly in the case of story-driven games.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recently, game companies are becoming increasingly vigilant with their guidelines related to streaming, and repercussions for breaking the rules are likewise becoming stricter \u2013 last year saw the first case of a prison sentence<\/a> related to the upload of gameplay\/anime videos. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
