Until then, I&#8217;ll live as a failed animator who ruined a masterpiece.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>It is alleged that MAPPA has assigned massive amounts of work to external freelancers with unclear compensation, enforced unrealistic schedules, and required animators to sign agreements to avoid complaining about the production.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the &#8220;Animation Creators Survey Report 2019&#8221; compiled by the Japan Animator &amp; Director Association, 41.1% of animators earn below 3 million yen annually, with 22.8% earning under 2 million yen (around $13,500), 27.5% between 3 to 5 million yen ($20,300~$33,800), and only 30.5% earning over 5 million yen (around $33,800+) (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.janica.jp\/survey\/survey2019Report.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">via Janica<\/a>).\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2021, another animator involved in &#8220;Attack on Titan: The Final Season&#8221; raised similar issues about MAPPA&#8217;s demanding work environment and insufficient internal training\u200b\u200b, also mentioning Vincent\u2019s past statement about MAPPA:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background\" style=\"background-color:#d7d7d7\"><em>Domestic animators are somewhat accustomed to harsh environments, so it hasn&#8217;t caused a major uproar, but recently in the anime industry, there has been an increase in opportunities for foreign talent to participate.
