The story centers around twin brothers Rin and Yukio Okumura as they and their allies strive to exorcise harmful demons. Debuting in JUMP SQ. back in 2009, the series quickly attracted a following with a 25-episode anime series airing in 2011. Since then, the series has spawned a number of spin-offs and continuations including a movie, stage plays, and novels. The original manga has now sold over 25 million copies and a new anime TV series is set to be broadcast in Japan in January 2024.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" src=\"http:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/20231218-24550-001.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-24553\" srcset=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/20231218-24550-001.jpeg 1200w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/20231218-24550-001-380x214.jpeg 380w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/20231218-24550-001-768x432.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/20231218-24550-001-600x338.jpeg 600w\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Aniplex&#8217;s upcoming game based on the Blue Exorcist manga will apparently have a brand-new storyline and also feature new characters designed by the manga artist. Many fan favorites from the original series, including Rin and Yukio, will also appear in the game as playable characters. The trailer shows Rin and Yukio using their signature weapons to fight various monsters, with a third masked character wielding Japanese swords who seems to team up with them. It was later announced that a mobile game known as Blue Exorcist: DAMNED CHORD would be released in 2019. However, after suffering a series of <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/aoex_DC\/status\/1204689800374013952?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">delays<\/a>, the game was later scrapped in 2020, with a new project known as Blue Exorcist X MORPG being <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/aoex_DC\/status\/1328896040620027905?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">announced<\/a> at the same time. It seems that this project is what led to the recently announced Alterna Welt: Blue Exorcist Gaiden.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/game.ao-ex.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Alterna Welt Blue Exorcist Gaiden<\/a> is scheduled to release on PC (Steam) and iOS\/Android in Summer 2024.
