Recently, <\/strong>the EK-QuantumX CoolingStation Monoblock <\/strong>for the PlayStation 5 made its way to the Japanese market. But users have an issue with this peculiar piece of tech \u2013 in Japan, it costs more than a brand-new PS5.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The EK-QuantumX CoolingStation Monoblock<\/a> is a water-cooling system manufactured by EK, and it\u2019s made exclusively for the PS5. The Monoblock covers the console entirely from front to back, providing cooling for core components. It promises reduced fan noise and consistent temperatures while being \u201csleek\u201d and stylish.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This unique piece of hardware was first revealed about two months ago, and it has recently hit Japanese tech stores, but Japanese users couldn’t help but notice an ironic detail \u2013 the product\u2019s price tag. The CoolingStation Monoblock is priced at 85,000 yen, which is well over the suggested retail price of a brand-new Play Station 5 (59,980 yen). It might be worth noting here that in the US, the Monoblock, albeit still pricy at $449.99, doesn’t set you back more than the console itself.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, users also noted that the Monoblock requires additional parts such as a pump to circulate coolant and a radiator with fans to dissipate heat.
