The Pok\u00e9mon Company released the latest update Ver. 3.0.1 for Pok\u00e9mon HOME<\/strong> on July 4. This update fixes several problems, including the issue of all Spindas\u2019 spot patterns showing up the same. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pok\u00e9mon HOME is a cloud service created under the concept of \u201ca place where all Pok\u00e9mon can gather,\u201d which allow players to store and manage Pok\u00e9mon across the various titles in the Pok\u00e9mon series. With the update Ver. 3.0.0, the service became compatible with Pok\u00e9mon Scarlet and Violet, allowing users to bring over a portion of Pok\u00e9mon from these titles.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Up until the Ver. 3.0.0 update, Pok\u00e9mon HOME had been displaying Spindas exactly the same as they were in the games in which they were captured, reflecting the different spot patterns of each Spinda. But after the update, players noticed and reported that Pok\u00e9mon HOME graphics made all Spindas display the same spot pattern. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spindas are Pok\u00e9mon characterized by their unique, individual spot patterns that change from one Spinda to another. According to the description in the Pok\u00e9dex, “All Spindas in the world have their spots in different places,” and “The probability that of encountering two Spindas with the same pattern is less than 1 in 4 billion.\u201d In the system, the pattern of a Spinda is determined by so-called hidden internal parameters, which are determined when the Pok\u00e9mon is generated. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This important characteristic of the Spinda, along with the reports of players is what led to the new ver. 3.0.1 update including a fix for the problem of all Spindas\u2019 spot patterns showing up the same on the Pok\u00e9mon summary screen.

On a side note, Spinda also appears in Pok\u00e9mon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl and Pok\u00e9mon GO. However, although both games are compatible with Pok\u00e9mon HOME, Spinda alone cannot be transferred from these titles to Pok\u00e9mon HOME. The same goes for vice versa, as Spinda cannot be transferred from Pok\u00e9mon HOME to Pok\u00e9mon BDSP. Although the reason for this has not been officially disclosed, it is believed to be due to a technical problem regarding the hidden parameters that determine Spindas\u2019 spot patterns. This is also what contributed to users concerns when they saw all Spindas\u2019 patterns becoming uniform in Pok\u00e9mon Home, as many worried that due to technical difficulties, the whole system of each Spinda having a different spot pattern might have been abolished. Had this been the case, many users\u2019 efforts to capture Spindas with particular patterns of their liking would have been in vain.
