The game is set in a world of swords and magic, where the player embarks on an adventure and fight demons who avenge mankind. The purpose of the player\u2019s journey is unknown at this moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Numerous fragmentary texts are written on the teaser site and in the trailer. They are mostly out of context, but they do reveal some information about the game. There are powerful dragons roaming in the game\u2019s world, and they are wreaking havoc on human society. There are conflicts between humans as well, and an organization called the White Order (\u767d\u306e\u6559\u56e3) will appear. Fujisaka previously worked on the character design of the <em>Drakengard<\/em> series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Key members from the <em>Drakengard <\/em>series are on board, but according to a <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/yokotaro\/status\/1435881552144072706\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">tweet<\/a> from Yoko Taro, this is not a <em>Drakengard<\/em> game. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the <em>Nier Replicant ver 1.22\u2019<\/em>s official live broadcast back in April, it was mentioned that the game will be a little indie-like and will have a download version only (though they did say there\u2019s a possibility of making a special physical edition).
