The company has established guidelines regarding fan-made derivative works based on the game, and the content of these guidelines has drawn the interest of users on social media.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"\u300e\u30c8\u30ef\u30c4\u30ac\u30a4\u300fPV \u7b2c\uff17\u5f3e -\u904b\u547d\u306e\u30c4\u30ac\u30a4\u7d39\u4ecb\u7bc7-\" width=\"1160\" height=\"653\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/7R1jFyo2aNE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><br><em>Towa Tsugai<\/em> is an RPG that depicts battles waged by pairs of girls in a world that has been eroded by the \u201cBlack Sea.\u201d The game focuses on the relationship between the girls that form each pair, and there are likely many players who are looking forward to the yuri (girls\u2019 love) elements. For those fans who want to go a step further and create their own derivative works based on these girls, there are some <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jp.square-enix.com\/towatsugai\/guidelines\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">guidelines<\/a> that have been established by the publisher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In discussing the guidelines, the game\u2019s producer Yoshinari Fujimoto said, \u201cI would like to show my respect and support for all of the creators that produce fan-made works based on <em>Towa Tsugai<\/em>.\u201d The clearest indication of this welcoming stance can be found in clause 4 of the guidelines, \u201cShowcasing of Derivative Works by the Company,\u201d which states that Square Enix may choose to showcase derivative works during livestreams or via social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The declaration by the official <em>Towa Tsugai<\/em> team that they will be actively involved with fan-made content was met with surprise by users on social media and elsewhere, as the guidelines initially stated that the company had the right to showcase the derivative works without prior confirmation with the fan creators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each player will likely have their own interpretations of the relationships between the girls in <em>Towa Tsugai<\/em>, whether it be love or a more complicated connection that can\u2019t be put into words. As such, it\u2019s not hard to imagine that fan-made works will be infused with the desires of how their creators think things should be. There are surely some people who wouldn\u2019t want their wild fantasies to be shared in an official capacity, so it should be no surprise that many were taken aback by the guidelines stating that derivative works could be shared without prior confirmation. Perhaps upon considering these concerns, as of February 16, Square Enix had altered the controversial clause to one that included the phrase: \u201cAfter first contacting the creators of the work\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In recent years, there have been many mobile games that have set guidelines for derivative works, including <em>Fate\/Grand Order<\/em>, <em>Blue Archive<\/em>, <em>Arknights<\/em>, and <em>Genshin Impact<\/em>. However, it\u2019s rare to see the publishers become actively involved with derivative works, as is the case with <em>Towa Tsugai<\/em>. You get a strong sense that they are hoping to build excitement for the game through the fan community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Towa Tsugai<\/em> is currently available in Japan on iOS and Android as a free-to-play title.<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right\">\u00a9 SQUARE ENIX CO., LTD.
