The game is due out in Spring 2023, and preparations are underway to include multi-lingual support. Sega itself is handling development of the game, with <strong>Yoko Taro<\/strong> serving as creative director and illustrator <strong>Yuugen<\/strong> in charge of character designs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>404 GAME RE:SET<\/em> is an RPG where you must fix a world that has been distorted by Sega. The game is set in a world where Sega reigns supreme in all kinds of fields, from entertainment to infrastructure. One day, the protagonist encounters a mysterious existence known as X, who explains that the world is not as it should be. After realizing that Sega is the culprit behind this distorted world, the protagonist wages a battle against the company in an attempt to restore the world to its original form.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"\u3010\u4e8b\u524d\u767b\u9332\u958b\u50ac\u4e2d\u3011\u30b9\u30de\u30fc\u30c8\u30d5\u30a9\u30f3RPG\u6700\u65b0\u4f5c\u300e404 GAME RE:SET\u300f SHOWCASE\" width=\"1160\" height=\"653\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/DnvxeJN1gWU?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><br>The characters in the game, referred to as the \u201cCast,\u201d are bishoujo personifications of famous video games. Sega titles like <em>OutRun<\/em>, <em>Virtua Cop<\/em>, and <em>Virtua Fighter<\/em>, as well as games from other companies, have been transformed into girls. The girls are beings created from games that have been granted a consciousness and they possess the ability to alter reality. Sega has brainwashed the Cast and uses their abilities to rewrite the world as it sees fit. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Details on the game are still scarce, but in the announcement trailer, Yoko Taro explained, \u201cI thought that people probably wouldn\u2019t want to see Sega create a game where they make themselves look good, so I made them evil.\u201d He then imagined what it would be like if Sega were to go out of control, and created a world based on this delusion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He further explained that the game\u2019s content is rather unorthodox and said that he would be really happy if the game made everyone think: \u201cSega made an edgy game that isn\u2019t going to make any money.\u201d<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\"
