Despite being a monthly subscription, there have been reports from a number of users claiming that they are being charged every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>O2Jam Online<\/em> is a reboot of the online rhythm game <em>O2Jam<\/em>, which originally ended service in 2012. The game is free-to-play, but only a number of songs are available for free, and you must pay to access the rest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, songs cannot be purchased outright\u2014you can only rent them for either 7 or 30 days. There is also a monthly subscription available for $12.99 that provides access to 160 paid songs and unlocks all skins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The monthly subscription is supposed to automatically renew each month, as one would expect, but a number of players, including Japanese Twitter user @vaqlas, have reported that they are being billed for a renewal every single day.\u00a0<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">how does this happen. how. how,<br>these are things you catch after using the system ONCE, let alone making it into PRODUCTION <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/vHmpsrwVzv\">pic.twitter.com\/vHmpsrwVzv<\/a><\/p>&mdash; TaroNuke @ PROJEKT GODHAND \ud83d\udd1c STEAM NEXT FEST\ud83d\udca5 (@TaroNuke) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TaroNuke\/status\/1616319177228255235?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 20, 2023<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><br>@vaqlas posted a screenshot of the monthly subscription (Monthly Card) that they purchased on January 19. It shows that the purchase of the subscription was completed without issue. However, the second screenshot shows a message that was delivered to their Steam account on January 20. The message states that an attempt was made to renew the Monthly Card, but the process could not be completed as there were insufficient funds in @vaqlas\u2019 Steam Wallet. In other words, if there are enough funds in a user\u2019s Steam Wallet, then it\u2019s possible that the \u201cmonthly\u201d subscription fee would be charged every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There were also users who replied to @vaqlas\u2019 post stating that they had encountered the same issue. There is even a Steam user review on the game\u2019s store page that says, \u201cDo not buy a subscription, you will be billed EVERY DAY.\u201d<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1280px) 100vw, 1280px\" src=\"http:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/20230124-234708-002.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-17602\" srcset=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/20230124-234708-002.jpg 1280w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/20230124-234708-002-600x338.jpg 600w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/20230124-234708-002-380x214.jpg 380w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/20230124-234708-002-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/20230124-234708-002-150x84.jpg 150w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/20230124-234708-002-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/20230124-234708-002-696x392.jpg 696w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/20230124-234708-002-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/20230124-234708-002-747x420.jpg 747w\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Shortly after the game was released, it had an Overwhelmingly Negative rating based on its Steam user reviews. Only 4% of reviews were positive, which actually broke the record for the worst rated game in Steam history. Major reasons that led to this negative reception included a multitude of bugs, such as issues with the audio going out of sync, and the pricing of the monthly subscription service (<a href=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/news\/20230118-17552\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">related article<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From what I (the original author of this article) could tell, all of the users who have reported the issue with the subscription have had the renewal fail due to insufficient funds in their Steam Wallets. However, there may very well be users who do have enough funds and are being billed multiple times without realizing it. We advise anyone who has purchased a subscription for the game to check whether they have been billed correctly.
