This new method uses the junctions between areas and is a more efficient way to reset the Pok\u00e9mon that appear in an area compared to the previous picnic method.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just like many other games in the series, <em>Pok\u00e9mon Scarlet and Violet<\/em> feature the very rare Shiny Pok\u00e9mon variants. With some luck, trainers are able to encounter Pok\u00e9mon that possess a different color scheme than usual. Players have investigated a variety of different methods in the hope of discovering an efficient way to encounter these Shiny Pok\u00e9mon (<a href=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/news\/20221213-17243\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">related article<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The most popular method is to use picnics to reset the Pok\u00e9mon in an area. When you begin a picnic, all the wild Pok\u00e9mon in the area disappear, and when you end your picnic, they respawn. You can reset the Pok\u00e9mon simply by moving between areas. I caught six Shiny Magikarp in the ocean behind the cluster of high-rise buildings in Levincia using only one sandwich (30 min).<\/font><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><br><em>Pok\u00e9mon Scarlet and Violet<\/em> feature seamless traversal between different areas, but Pok\u00e9mon and NPCs disappear once you are a certain distance away from them. And for wild Pok\u00e9mon, there are dividing lines between areas that determine whether they appear. @TAK_Reor\u2019s post explains that if a Mass Outbreak occurs near one of these dividing lines, then it is possible to reset the wild Pok\u00e9mon that appear simply by moving back and forth between areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of course, these \u201cdividing lines\u201d are part of the game\u2019s internal processing, so players are unable to see their position on the map. However, just as @TAK_Reor\u2019s explains, it is easy to confirm that such dividing lines exist on the borders between areas. If you see a Mass Outbreak on the map that seems to be near the border of two areas, then it\u2019s likely to be a great spot for some Shiny hunting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dividing lines also exist inside caves. A user on Twitter <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/koraidon_kawaii\/status\/1597642026409144320\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">posted footage<\/a> of a section located within The Great Crater of Paldea where it is very quick and easy to reset the wild Pok\u00e9mon that appear. This shows that there are areas where you can easily find Shiny Pok\u00e9mon just by moving around, without the need to search for Mass Outbreaks. It\u2019s possible that you may even find other areas that are similar to this one.
