Developed by Game Freak, the standout feature of the games is their open world where towns and sprawling fields are seamlessly connected. This open world serves as the setting for a new adventure to unfold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Jump into a Paldean Journey | Pok\u00e9mon Scarlet and Pok\u00e9mon Violet\" width=\"1160\" height=\"653\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/4YEEDqke-D0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><br>This latest Pok\u00e9mon adventure has already hit a major milestone of selling over 10 million units in just three days, with over 4 million of those in Japan alone. 40% is a pretty significant chunk for just Japan. The announcement also states that this is the best a game has sold on Nintendo hardware in its first three days on the market both globally and in Japan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Looking at the opening week sales data for other <em>Pok\u00e9mon<\/em> titles on the Nintendo Switch, we can see that <em>Pok\u00e9mon Sword<\/em> and <em>Shield<\/em> sold 6 million units worldwide. <em>Pok\u00e9mon Brilliant Diamond<\/em> and <em>Shining Pearl<\/em> also sold 6 million units, with <em>Pok\u00e9mon Legends: Arceus<\/em> reaching 6.5 million units. It might be one of the most immersive games in the series to date. However, players have also been pointing out that the games are mired with performance issues, including the framerate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the review aggregate site Metacritic, both <a href=\"https:\/\/www.metacritic.com\/game\/switch\/pokemon-scarlet\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Scarlet<\/em><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.metacritic.com\/game\/switch\/pokemon-violet\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Violet<\/em><\/a> sit at a rating of 76 out of 100, while the user scores for the games are in the 3 out of 10 range. Considering that the user scores for the titles are being review bombed, it\u2019s hard to accept those scores as an accurate evaluation. But it does show the reception has been mixed with some players. They\u2019re games that have strong appeal but aren\u2019t without their problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At any rate, the latest <em>Pok\u00e9mon<\/em> games have put up record-breaking sales numbers, so it looks like many players have resonated with the overall concept. You could say it shows the strength of the <em>Pok\u00e9mon<\/em> IP and how effective their marketing is.
