Capcom has released a new update<\/a> for both Capcom Arcade Stadium<\/em> and Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium<\/em><\/strong> with both games receiving additional features that improve playability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Capcom Arcade Stadium <\/em>and Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium<\/em> are game collections where players can enjoy numerous classic arcade titles from Capcom\u2019s history. They cover a wide range of genres, with each having 32 available games, and are free to download with each arcade game being available for purchase individually as DLC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This most recent update changes the background of E. Honda\u2019s stage in the following Street Fighter II <\/em>releases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While Capcom didn\u2019t specifically explain what changed, I (the original author of this article) was able to confirm in STREET FIGHTER II – The World Warrior – <\/em>that part of a background was modified. E. Honda\u2019s stage takes place in a bathhouse with a large mural of Mt. Fuji painted on the wall. Before the update, the space to the left of Mt. Fuji was left bare but now depicts a sun faintly covered by some clouds. This sun design matches that of Street Fighter V<\/em> and Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers<\/em>.

E. Honda\u2019s stage grabbed the attention of players when Capcom Arcade Stadium<\/em> first released as well. In the original version of Street Fighter II<\/em>, the background mural of the stage actually depicted a sun with sunrays which were removed for the Capcom Arcade Stadium<\/em> release. It\u2019s thought that this change may have been made due to it resembling the Rising Sun flag which could potentially draw criticism in some regions (related article<\/a> in Japanese). While the resulting design up to this point was somewhat bland, it looks like a new sun design was ultimately provided for the game.

The update also includes new features for some games such as a faster rapid-fire shot setting. Additionally, the ability to operate the camera using the right stick during gameplay can be toggled on or off in the settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the shooting game Savage Bees<\/em>, which is included in Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium<\/em>, it is now possible to change the name entry language to either English or Japanese in the settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additional enhancements include being able to directly launch each game you own from the Game List and being able to save settings for each individual game. It\u2019s also now possible to restore all games to their default settings at once.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Capcom Arcade Stadium<\/em> and Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium<\/em> are now available on PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
