The official YouTube channel for the <em>Tales of<\/em> series released the video below in March of this year, revealing the best-selling games from the series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the video, the most recent title to reach the top 10 is <em>Tales of Xillia<\/em>, released in 2011 in Japan. The remaining top-ranked titles are from the earlier stages of the series, such as <em>Tales of Destiny<\/em>. The latest title, <em>Tales of Berseria<\/em>, and other newer titles did not reach the top 10.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This ranking suggests it is quite possible that the <em>Tales of<\/em> series has struggled to acquire new players in Asia in recent years. Additionally, the worldwide ranking has more relatively recent titles in the top 10, which would suggest that there\u2019s a slight difference in new player acquisition between Asia and Japan compared to other regions. He set goals such as \u201cincreasing the overseas audience\u201d and \u201cacquiring the younger generation of players.\u201d Furthermore, he also mentions how survey results signified that \u201cit is difficult for new players to get into the series because of its longevity.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In an interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.famitsu.com\/news\/202104\/21218143.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Famitsu<\/a>, Tomizawa commented on another goal for <em>Arise<\/em>&#8211;for it to work as an evolution of the series that would appeal to new players, while also pointing out the title\u2019s significant graphical upgrade. Based on his various interviews, Tomizawa\u2019s intent for <em>Arise<\/em> to mark a new era for the series is clear as day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Arise<\/em> seems to mark not only an evolution in the games themselves, but also in the marketing for the series. Currently, it appears that a download code for the demo version of the game is being sent out to many Amazon users as a \u201cfree sample.\u201d At the time of writing (August 21, 2021), there are <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=Amazon%20%E3%82%A2%E3%83%A9%E3%82%A4%E3%82%BA&amp;src=typed_query&amp;f=live\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">a number of people reporting on Twitter<\/a> that they received the \u201cAmazon demo version\u201d of the game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And among them, there are also users who say they have never played the series before. This may be a strategy to help develop a new player base.
