Gotcha Gotcha Games has announced new details about RPG Maker Unite<\/strong><\/em>, the latest product in the RPG Maker<\/em> series. RPG Maker Unite <\/em>is a Unity-based code-less game development tool first announced back in February (related article<\/a>). As with other RPG Maker<\/em> products, you can create RPGs without any coding knowledge thanks to its command system and editable parameters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for the latest announcement made today, they mention that the new product will natively support full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution for the first time in the series, allowing users to create sharper and more detailed graphics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Secondly, RPG Maker Unite <\/em>will do away with the modal-window UI used in previous installments and introduce a modeless window UI approach to enable simultaneous editing of multiple parameters. The modal-window approach was easy to understand for beginners, but its lack of ability to edit multiple elements at the same time limited the productivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAt first, this complete UI style change might feel a little odd to Maker veterans and overwhelming to beginners. However, owing to the much higher computer literacy of today\u2019s general public, we have observed how fast young and passionate RPG Maker<\/em> users turn into veterans. Like in previous titles, RPG Maker Unite<\/em> will come with a sample game. Two of the sample characters can be seen in the images below.

In regard to the eligibility of RPG Maker Unite<\/em>, Gotcha Gotcha Games mentions that it will be available to \u201call Unity users, including users of the free Unity Personal and Student license plans.\u201d And according to the Dev Log, \u201cbackward compatibility or a data conversion feature is not something we could commit to at this moment.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

RPG Maker Unite<\/em> is set to launch in 2022 for Steam and the Unity Asset Store. It\u2019ll support Japanese, English, and Simplified Chinese at launch, with other languages being considered \u201cpending on the amount of demands for it as well as development status.\u201d They plan to update their Dev Log on a \u201conce or twice per month basis,\u201d so keep an eye on the Steam page<\/a> for more information.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
