The new trailer was packed with loads of content that told a vivid story about the world of the game. Among the super-tense battle scenes and various characters depicted, there was one character that was an instant hit with the fan community. It honestly just looks like a pot that has sprouted arms and legs. Its plodding walk has a strange charm about it. If you listen closely over the BGM, it also sounds like it makes a croaking noise, like a frog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This mysterious character, which doesn\u2019t even have an official name yet, has already conquered a broad swath of the fan community. A similar character designed as an object that sprouts arms and legs is the Mimic, an enemy character that appears in the <em>Dark Souls <\/em>series. The character design for the Mimic has a treasure chest for a head, from which it sprouts a torso as well as arms and legs. It bites players who carelessly open the treasure chest, and functions as a sort of trap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although this character was also treated like a mascot by some fans, its limbs are long and extremely nimble, and its head has sharp fangs and can stick out a long tongue, giving it a much more grotesque shape than Pot Boy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In contrast, Pot Boy has short limbs and moves in a way that evokes a toddling child, and its body is rounded, giving it a cute overall shape. Although it\u2019s creepy if you actually stop and think about it, it\u2019s still far less threatening compared to the Mimic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Twitter has been flooded with <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=elden%20ring%20pots&amp;src=typed_query\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">posts<\/a> about the Pot Boy, and people are uploading loads of fanart, as mentioned before. Amid the general rejoicing over the release of new information, a post that declared \u201cThis is now a pot boy themed subreddit\u201d received over 4,000 upvotes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The thread did contain some negative \u201canti-Pot Boy\u201d opinions, with one commenter grumbling, \u201c<em>More mimic-like ennemies (sp), it will be so greatly frustrating<\/em>.\u201d On the other hand, some commenters were excited about the monster\u2019s potential behavior, saying, \u201c<em>Imagine they grab you once you roll into them<\/em>,\u201d and there were a lot of positive comments posted as well, such as \u201c<em>He cute<\/em>\u201d and \u201c<em>This screams classic FromSoft I love it so much<\/em>.\u201d<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-reddit wp-block-embed-reddit\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"reddit-embed-bq\" style=\"height:500px\" ><a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/Eldenring\/comments\/nwwtz0\/this_is_now_a_pot_boy_themed_subreddit\/\">This is now a pot boy themed subreddit<\/a><br> by<a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/user\/Zazawazz\/\">u\/Zazawazz<\/a> in<a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/Eldenring\/\">Eldenring<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/embed.reddit.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"UTF-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><br>A lot of other Pot Boy-related posts have been made in the Reddit <em>Elden Ring <\/em>community, as well. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/Eldenring\/comments\/nxdfcv\/just_a_potboy_vibing_ready_to_avenge_his_smashed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">One post<\/a> took the clip from the trailer and looped it to make a .gif that looked like Pot Boy was dancing, while <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/Eldenring\/comments\/nx41e0\/the_pots_have_had_enough_of_our_shit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">another post<\/a> joked that the pots might be planning their revenge for the common practice of pot-smashing in FromSoftware games, saying, \u201cThe pots have had enough of our sh-t.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Absolute silence had been maintained around <em>Elden Ring <\/em>since it was first announced two years ago. When the fresh topic of the new trailer was dropped on the fan community, it seems to have promptly set off a huge flurry of activity related to the game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As you might expect from his appearance, Pot Boy\u2019s greatest strength so far seems to be his \u201ccuteness\u201d. It remains unclear whether he\u2019ll actually turn out to be an enemy character at all.
