Anime is popular because it’s not trying to appeal to the global market with their stories. The minute thay changes like Mappa suggested it will decline.

Albeit this is good news for anyone in to Anime for the last 3decades, it also saddens me, cause it seems we can’t have nice things anymore without them being changed to chatter westerns… Which is exactly the number one reason why I love Anime.

Well, maybe if Hollywood would actually focus on good storytelling, instead of pushing social agendas, audiences wouldn’t have to turn to foreign markets to get good stories. It would also help if American studios stopped treating traditional animation like some kind of plague. Traditional animation in the US seems to be reserved for kids shows and edgy, lowbrow, adult “comedy”, neither of which are appealing to the biggest consumer of anime.
