No better than bullies. The mange/anime itself might have been interesting to watch, but not when it makes things worse. They should be ashamed

The depiction in the manga/anime isn’t the problem. The comments by the editors and the products surrounding the manga/anime are crazy though. I think there’s a midpoint where we can be open to artistic freedom depicting these stories and condemn any disrespect they get, especially through products. Like why did that acrylic stand even exist?

Japan just has a hard time discussing real subjects like this so they think it’s easier to pretend they’re not relevant but this is a very profound story and pretending otherwise just creates more situations where people like this are treated as inhuman by an inhumane society and forced down a path like this as a result.

That’s a pretty bold stance to take when there are hundreds of anime that depict women as children, or at times, just make the character a child, and use them as a sex object. Where is the outrage against pedophilia?
