The real reason behind Mithril Mine is due to Unreal Engine itself, while yes it does have excellent rendering of realistic visuals, those realistic visuals can often be a hindrance when it comes visual cues, like for example to traversal of mountains, examining certain objects, which objects can be climbed etc because all objects blend together too easily and people become lost visually. This is why Yellow Paint is in these games or even the fact in one of the mountain levels the textures had to be painted an off color to indicate that they can be climbed.

While Unreal Engine is not a bad system, i am hoping Square Enix can pull a Capcom and make at least a game engine of their own or at least two, one for AAA/AA and another for an MMO that can scale to from Mobile up to PC and Console. It feels like Square Enix keeps running into creative limitations and things they have to keep fixing to make everything work over time. It would help for them to spend money and to try to make it work again.
