The issue is that the Anime industry needs to crash before anything can be done sadly. Not like a small crash and a few companies die and are absorbed, but i am talking about the big crash of the late 00's early 2010's. The whole industry is over-licensing, running on fumes and making the same mistakes over and over again. Grants, using AI and 3D helps, but overall it follows Jevons Paradox in the current mindset of the Japanese Industry. The more efficient things are, the more they think they can keep getting away with it.

This just shows the Japanese government doesn't know shit all about what actually sells. Japanese live action has for decades been mediocre.

And I have already reduced my to watch of Japanese anime by 80% replacing it with Chinese Guoman instead.
