“how accurate it is to history” they never ever said that, the whole premise of the series is precisely the idea that history as we know it is manipulated and as someone who can get into the Animus and relive past memories, you experience the true history that was hidden from you.

Here’s the real problem and why nobody, once they understand this truth, will actually support the game; the lead writer, Giles Armstrong, is an admitted racist and over in Japan they’ve already started a petition to get this game changed to not be a racist product with thousands upon thousands of signatures already.

If you support this game, that means you support racism, and you are a racist yourself. It’s that simple. Every other AC game held accurate, authentic representation for the themes and culture, but they wanted to force DEI into this one and Giles is on record defending this game by outing themselves as a racist.

No self-respecting individual knowing this would call for support of this game. None. You’re either a racist, or you’re against the game. It’s that simple.

The main issue with this game as a series is it always talks about how accurate it is to history, and how it respects the characters and tries to make everything accurate from buildings, to artifacts and historical figures etc. I have noticed as the series went past a certain mark history became more inaccurate to outright falsehoods about leaders, presidents, and even artifacts. A company that makes games and claim accuracy should no longer be able to advertise it as such and should mention that they have taken it into the opposite direction. I have known about this for a long time and never bought any new games from them for a long time.

I do not blame Japan for being upset as it is within their right to dispute the game and to even outright ban it if it presents falsehoods of historical accuracy in order to score political points. In the trailer it highlights Chinese music, it misrepresents history and the accuracy of history due to laziness and outright not listening to the Japanese branch which is disrespectful and undignified. Also it’s not just Japan, It is within every countries right to call something out and to even ban it, if there is disrespect involved. That being said, a Dual protagonist is a good concept, but this may not have been the game to do it with.
